i brought my 72 fender vibrolux over to louis to check out, i just bought
it from guitar center and it has a few issues...while i was there,
i checked out a couple of his amps. these amps are everything you want from a boutiqe amp, i've checked out victorias, 65's and bogner's,
and this amp kicks ass..louis kept his amps simple, but concentrated
on giving these amps BALLS..i always used OD box's, but with these
amps i wouldnt need one..i'm not connected in anyway with louis amps,
but if i was to pay mucho $$$,s i'd get one of these... |

Welcome!! I know exactly what you mean. I play very agressive music as well, and for most of my career, I wouldn't dream of leaving the house without an array of pedals/pre-amps to boost my amps tone/gain structure, especially for solo's. Now, using Louis's amps I feel I have everything I need to play plugged straight in and not feel naked. I have a huge pedal board, I didn't even bother bringing it to my last gig. I brought a tuner and a delay pedal for slapback, and I was golden. What a revelation!
For the curious, I used my Baby Bluesbreaker, which I only needed to turn up to a bit past 4, it was roaring!

luckly for me, Lou is one of my best friends. I have a custum built KR, but get it updated every few months. I love the tone, but it's a ball buster to lug around. _________________ scags |

What kind of updates do you have Lou make to your KR12? Just curious.
Thanks,
Jeff |

Lou went through my older KR12 and gave it all the latest updates.
I can't tell you technically what he did, but here's the laymans talk,
updated the Master Volume circuit which is now it's infinitely more usable at lower volumes.
He also changed the filtering on the highs so there's absolutely no hint of harshness anywhere
at any level.
He updated my negative feedback with a trim pot that has a much wider sweep, incredible.
I never thought it was possible for this amp to sound better; but it does. |
